Catamaran Cruising and Bareboat Certification in Key West

Hello Sailing Friends,

How is this winter treating you? Are you looking forward to your next sailing adventure?

We thank all of you who have reached out to us for catamaran bareboat cruising certification courses and IPC prep!

We have decided to offer a 7-day Catamaran Bareboat Cruising Path to achieve all three cruising certifications in one course, sailing from the beautiful Perry Marina in Key West.

CERTIFICATIONS:

• US Sailing Basic Cruising Certification Course

• US Sailing Bareboat Cruising Certification Course

• US Sailing Catamaran Endorsement

DATES: Friday, April 11 to Thursday, April 17

LOCATION: Perry Marina, Key West

Prerequisite for this course is the US Sailing Basic Keelboat certification, which we offer mostly at our Miami base at Miami Yacht Club.

The highly regarded US Sailing teaching system will equip you with an engaging and thorough learning experience that will make you a safe and confident sailor.

During the Basic Cruising portion of the course, you will hone your sailing skills by learning how to sail, dock, and moore a 40-foot cruising monohull in ocean sailing conditions. Afterwards, we will move the course onto a 52-foot Lagoon sailing catamaran that can also be your home during this course.

Once you have passed the Basic Cruising and Bareboat Cruising certification exams, you have the option to also certify for the Catamaran Endorsement during this course. You will then be qualified to safely captain both monohulls and catamarans and receive the International Proficiency Certificate (IPC) from US Sailing.

COURSE ITINERARY

Thursday, 4/10:

Check into your cabin on the Lagoon 52 catamaran or Beneteau 393 monohull

Friday, 4/11 - Sunday, 4/13:

Basic Cruising Modules 1 - 3 on a 40-foot Beneteau 393 Monohull

Monday 4/14: - Thursday 4/17:

Bareboat Cruising Modules 1 - 4 on a 52-foot Lagoon 52 Catamaran

(Departure or optional overnight on the catamaran)
